Website maintenance in Goa

Cloudworks is a web studio in Goa that looks after your website after launch, so it stays fast and up to date: we handle your domain, hosting, analytics and post-launch edits and stay available for changes. We still run GreenSure Daily, a live store we built in Goa.

What website maintenance means

A website is not finished the day it goes live. Domains and hosting have to be renewed, software and browsers change, prices and opening hours change, and a page that was fast in January can be slow by June. Maintenance is the routine work that stops a site drifting into a state where it is slow, broken or out of date.

If your website is how customers judge you, those small failures cost real enquiries. A wrong phone number, a form that no longer sends, or a page that is slow to open all send a customer to the next result.

What maintenance usually includes

This is the general picture, whoever does the work:

  • Renewals. The domain name and hosting need renewing on time. A lapsed domain takes your website and your email address offline.
  • Updates and security. Anything the site depends on needs to stay current. Template sites lean on a theme and a stack of plugins, each of which needs updating, which is part of why we build in code (see why websites are so slow).
  • Backups. A recent copy of the site so a mistake or a failure does not become a disaster.
  • Speed and uptime checks. Running the site through Google PageSpeed Insights now and then, and noticing when it is down.
  • Working parts. Forms, booking links, menus and payment flows keep doing their job.
  • Content changes. New prices, hours, photos, offers and pages.

What Cloudworks handles

Our projects include a clear set of after-launch commitments:

  • Domain and hosting. We set up both for you, on your own accounts, and hand over the keys at launch.
  • Analytics. Handled for you, so you can see how the site is used.
  • Post-launch edits. A window of edits after launch, so you can run your business while we make the changes.
  • Available for changes. We stay available after the site is live, because a business keeps changing.

You own everything: the code, the content and the domain are yours. What an ongoing arrangement covers is agreed with you before it starts.

A site we still run: GreenSure Daily

GreenSure Daily is a daily vegetable delivery store for a Goa business. We designed it, built it and still run it. It is live in production with real customers, with an admin panel for orders and stock and a wallet-based checkout. That is the kind of site where maintenance matters, because it takes orders every day rather than sitting still as a brochure.

Websites built by someone else

Tell us what you have and what is not working. We will say honestly whether the site is worth keeping, tuning or rebuilding, because sometimes a rebuild is faster and cheaper than patching. If a redesign is the better route, we will quote it as a fixed price, the same way as a new site.

If your site is slow or hard to find, the fix often starts with speed and structure, and we cover that work under SEO services.

Is your website due a check?

You can test the basics yourself in ten minutes:

  1. Open it on your phone. Does it load quickly, and can you find your phone number and a way to book or message within a few seconds?
  2. Run it through PageSpeed Insights. Google’s free tool at pagespeed.web.dev scores mobile and desktop from 0 to 100. Anything in the green, 90 and above, is healthy. Orange or red means visitors and rankings are being lost.
  3. Send yourself a message through the contact form. A form that has quietly stopped working is one of the most expensive faults, because you never see the enquiries you did not get.
  4. Read your own details. Hours, prices, menu, address and phone number should all be current.
  5. Check when your domain and hosting renew. Put the dates in your calendar. If you do not know who holds those accounts, find out.

If any of these fails, that is a maintenance job. If several fail, ask whether the site is worth patching or a rebuild would be quicker.

Questions to ask any maintenance provider

Whoever you hire, whether it is us or someone else, ask these before you agree to anything:

  • Whose name are the domain and hosting accounts in? They should be yours.
  • What is included in the price, and what is charged per change? Get the edits and upkeep line in plain words.
  • How do I ask for a change, and who answers? You should know a real person’s name.
  • What happens if I leave? You should be able to take your code, content and domain with you.
  • What exactly is checked, and how often? Vague promises of “monitoring” are worth little without the detail.

What it costs

We do not publish a maintenance price. It depends on:

  • what the site does, and whether it takes orders, payments or logins;
  • how often content changes;
  • whether you want a window of edits or ongoing care;
  • the third-party services the site relies on.

After a short call we give you a fixed quote, so you know the number before any work starts. The other running costs are small, and our Goa website cost guide lists them:

  • Domain: about ₹700-1,500 a year.
  • Hosting: from free to a few thousand rupees a year. A modern site on an edge platform such as Vercel can host for free at small scale and stay fast.
  • Email: a professional address through Google Workspace is about ₹130 per user per month.

The line in a quote to read closely is edits and upkeep. Ask whether you pay for each change or a window of edits is included, because that is where cheap quotes get expensive later.

Who this is for in Goa

Restaurants, cafes, hotels, shops, startups and local brands whose website brings in customers. We serve Margao, Panaji, Mapusa, Vasco and the rest of Goa, and we work with clients online, so the first call can happen wherever you are.

Cloudworks is a studio of seven plus interns, founded in 2024 and based in Goa. We take on a handful of projects at a time, so each one gets attention, and we reply to every enquiry within a day.

Questions people ask

How much does website maintenance cost per month?

We do not publish a monthly maintenance price, because it depends on what the site does. A brochure site needs little, while a store that takes orders and payments needs more care. Ask whether you pay per change or get a window of edits included. Domain and hosting costs are in our Goa website cost guide. We give a fixed quote after a short call.

What does website maintenance include?

Usually domain and hosting renewals, software updates, backups, security and uptime checks, speed checks, fixing broken links and forms, and content changes such as new prices, hours or photos. With Cloudworks, domain, hosting, analytics and post-launch edits are handled for you. Before any work starts we agree exactly what is covered.

Do websites need maintenance?

Yes. Domains and hosting renew every year, browsers and software change, and content goes out of date. A site left alone can slow down, break or show the wrong hours and prices, and customers notice quickly. How much care it needs depends on the site: a store with orders and payments needs more than a one-page brochure site.

How long does website maintenance take?

Routine upkeep such as renewals, backups and checks is small and recurring, and it is not a project with an end date. A content change is a small job, while a new page or feature is a short project in its own right. We agree the scope and timing with you before work starts, not after, and we reply to every enquiry within a day.
