Ecommerce website development in Goa

Cloudworks builds custom online stores for Goa businesses: a fast storefront, an admin panel for your orders and stock, and a checkout that takes payment. Custom e-commerce starts at ₹1,50,000, and we give you a fixed quote after a short call.

What an online store from us includes

An online store is more than a website with a basket. It is three things working together, and we build all three in code, from scratch:

  • The storefront. The pages your customers see: products, prices, photos and a clear path to buy. It is built in code to load fast on a phone.
  • The admin panel. A private back office where you manage orders and stock yourself, without touching code.
  • The checkout. The step where the customer pays. Which payment methods to offer, and how delivery and stock are handled, is decided with you in the brief.

On top of that, we build the store with proper page structure for search, so Google and AI assistants can read what you sell. If you later want billing, inventory or reporting behind the store, that is custom software, built by the same team.

Do you need an online store?

Maybe not yet. A lot of Goa businesses start by taking orders on WhatsApp and Instagram, and that is fine while you sell a few things to a few people. A store starts to pay for itself when you are retyping the same orders every day, when stock and payments need to update without you, or when you want customers to buy from you directly instead of through someone else.

The restaurant version of this question is common, and we answered it in do you still need a website if you are on Zomato and Swiggy. The short answer there is that the aggregators charge 18-30% commission and keep the customer relationship, while your own channel keeps the margin and the customer. Marketplaces are good for reach. Your own store is the one you own.

If a simpler setup is enough for you, we will say so.

Proof: GreenSure Daily

GreenSure Daily is a daily vegetable delivery store for a Goa business. It is the best example of what we mean by an online store, because we did not just launch it. We designed it, built it, and we still run it.

  • A clean storefront. The part customers see and shop from.
  • A custom admin panel. The business manages orders and stock from one place.
  • A wallet-based checkout. The way customers pay on this store.
  • Live in production with real customers. It is a working business, not a demo.

We do not publish sales figures for it, and we will not claim results we cannot show. What you can do is open the site, add something to the basket and see how it behaves.

How a project runs

Every project follows four steps:

  1. Brief. A short call about what you sell, who buys it and how orders reach you today. No prep needed.
  2. Interactive design. A working preview of the store, so you click through it instead of imagining a mockup.
  3. Build. We build the storefront, admin panel and checkout in code. You watch it come together in a live preview.
  4. Launch. We connect your domain, put it live, hand over full ownership and stay available for changes.

A store behaves more like software than a brochure site, so it starts with a written scope and ships in stages you can test. After launch we stay available for changes, and website maintenance keeps the store fast and current. If you want customers to find the store on Google, the SEO page explains how we build for that.

What it costs

We give a fixed quote after a short call, so you always know the number before any work starts. As a guide, our Goa website cost guide puts custom builds with motion, 3D, video or e-commerce at ₹1,50,000 and above.

What moves the price of a store:

  • how many products you sell, and whether they have sizes, weights or other options
  • how payment works, and which methods you offer
  • how delivery, slots or pickup are handled
  • how much the admin panel has to do
  • whether you already have product photos, descriptions and prices ready

Two cheaper routes exist, and they are not the same thing. Our cost guide puts do-it-yourself builders such as Wix or GoDaddy at ₹0-8,000, where you build it yourself. That is fine as a placeholder, but it will look like one. It puts a template site at ₹15,000-40,000, where a freelancer pours your products into a ready-made theme. A template costs less and goes live faster, but it looks like everyone else using it and tends to load slowly. We wrote the honest trade-off in custom-coded vs template websites.

What it costs to run

After the build, the ongoing costs are modest:

  • Domain. About ₹700-1,500 a year.
  • Hosting. From free to a few thousand rupees a year. A modern site on an edge platform can host for free at small scale and still be fast.
  • Email. A professional address through Google Workspace is about ₹130 per user per month.
  • Payment gateway fees. Charged by the payment provider you choose, not set by us. Ask any provider for its current rates before you sign up.
  • Edits and upkeep. Ask every studio whether changes are included. With us, a window of post-launch edits is part of the project.

We set up the domain and hosting for you, and the code, content and domain are yours.

Who this is for in Goa

We build for shops, food and grocery businesses, restaurants and brands that want to sell directly. We serve Margao, Panaji, Mapusa, Vasco and the rest of Goa, and we work with clients online, so you can start with a call wherever you are.

Cloudworks is a studio of seven plus interns, founded in 2024 and based in Goa. We take on a handful of projects at a time, so each one gets full attention, and we reply to every enquiry within a day.

Questions people ask

How much does an ecommerce website cost in India?

In our Goa cost guide, a custom website with e-commerce starts at ₹1,50,000. The price moves with the number of products, how payments and delivery work, and how much the admin panel has to do. After a short call we give you a fixed quote, so you know the number before any work starts.

How long does it take to build an ecommerce website?

Most of our websites go from brief to live in about two weeks, but a store has more to build: a product catalogue, a checkout and an admin panel. So we agree the timeline with you before work starts instead of promising one number up front. It grows with the number of products and payment rules, and with how quickly you send photos and prices.

Do I need an ecommerce website?

Not always. If you sell a handful of items and take orders on WhatsApp or Instagram, that can work for a while. You need your own store when orders grow, when you want payments and stock handled automatically, or when you want to own your customer list instead of renting an audience from a marketplace.

How much does it cost to run an ecommerce website?

The running costs are small next to the build. A domain costs about ₹700-1,500 a year, and hosting runs from free to a few thousand rupees a year. Payment gateway fees are charged by the gateway you choose, not by us. A professional email address is extra, about ₹130 per user per month on Google Workspace.
