Web development in Goa
Cloudworks is a web development studio in Goa. We write the code for fast custom websites, web apps, customer portals and dashboards, and connect them to bookings, payments and WhatsApp. You hire us as a studio for a fixed quote, and you own what we build.
What web development means here
Web development is the engineering behind a website: the code that makes pages load fast, takes a booking, accepts a payment, shows an owner their orders, or lets a customer log in. We write that code ourselves, from a blank page, with no theme or page-builder underneath.
This page is for businesses that want to hire a studio to build something. It is not a careers page, and we are not a staffing agency. If what you need is mainly a better-looking business site, start with website design and redesign, which is the same team and the same quality bar. The rest of this page is for when the site has to do real work.
What we build
- Fast sites coded from scratch. Only the code the page needs, so it loads quickly on a phone. Slow sites usually come from heavy images, bloated themes and cheap hosting, which we explain in why websites are so slow.
- Web apps. Software that runs in the browser: ordering, booking, internal tools, anything staff or customers log in to use.
- Customer portals. A private area where your customers see their own orders, details or history.
- Dashboards and admin panels. A back office where you manage orders, stock and reports without asking a developer for help.
- Integrations. The connections that save you typing: bookings, payments, WhatsApp, Google Sheets and Google Calendar.
If you want a native mobile app, that is a related but separate job, covered on our app development page.
Web design or web development?
They overlap, and for most business websites one studio should do both. The difference is the job each does.
Design decides what the site looks like and how a visitor moves through it: layout, type, colour, photography, motion. Development decides what the site does: how fast it loads, whether it can take a payment, who is allowed to log in, how it talks to your other tools.
A simple test. If you can describe what you want as pages a visitor reads, you mostly need design. If you describe it as things that happen behind the page, like “the owner sees every order” or “a booking lands in my calendar”, you need development. Many projects need both, and you deal with one team.
Proof: what we have built
- GreenSure Daily is a daily vegetable delivery store for a Goa business. We designed it, built it and still run it. It has a storefront, a custom admin panel for orders and stock, and a wallet-based checkout, and it is live in production with real customers. This is a full web app, not a brochure. The ecommerce page covers it in more detail.
- QuickBill is a restaurant billing app we built for a restaurant client running a central kitchen and outlets. Its web side is an owner dashboard, with separate logins for each outlet. It works offline and backs up to the cloud, so billing continues when the connection drops.
- Steam Shines is the website of a chemical-free steam cleaning company in Toronto and nearby cities in Canada. We built service and area pages meant to rank locally, one-tap WhatsApp booking, and motion that makes clean feel premium. It also shows we deliver for clients online.
- Our own AI receptionist is a working voice receptionist we built. It talks to the caller, checks whether a slot is free, books it, refuses double bookings and logs each booking to Google Sheets and Google Calendar. It is our own build, not a client deployment. See AI and WhatsApp automation.
We also publish concept sites with fictional brands to show what motion can do. Those are concepts, not client work, and you can open them in the work section of our homepage. This site is built the same way, and it scores 100 in all four Lighthouse categories.
How a project runs
Every project follows four steps:
- Brief. A short call about your business, your customers and what the site or app has to do. No prep needed.
- Interactive design. A working preview of the look and the flow, so you try it instead of imagining a mockup.
- Build. We build it in code and you watch it come together in a live preview.
- Launch. We connect your domain, put it live, hand over full ownership and stay available for changes.
A web app or portal starts with a longer brief and a written scope, and it ships in stages you can test along the way. You see working software early instead of trusting a plan.
How long it takes
Most websites go from brief to live in about two weeks. That is the typical case for a website, not a promise for every project. Apps, portals and dashboards ship in stages, and we agree the timeline with you before work starts, not after.
What it costs
We give a fixed quote after a short call, so you know the number before any work starts, with no surprise invoices. We do not publish a price for web apps, portals or dashboards, because one login screen and one hundred screens are very different jobs.
What moves the price on this kind of project:
- how many screens and features there are
- how many kinds of user log in, such as owner, staff and customer
- how many outside tools it connects to
- whether it takes payments
- whether you already have data to bring across
For plain websites, our Goa website cost guide sets out the bands. A custom-designed site runs ₹50,000-1,20,000, and a custom site with motion, 3D, video or e-commerce starts at ₹1,50,000. A domain costs about ₹700-1,500 a year, and hosting runs from free to a few thousand rupees a year. We set up both for you.
Who owns the code
You do. The code, content and domain are yours, built on your accounts and handed over at launch.
Who this is for in Goa
We work with restaurants, cafes, hotels, retail, startups and brands that need more than a brochure site. We serve Margao, Panaji, Mapusa, Vasco and the rest of Goa, and we work with clients online, so you can start with a call wherever you are.
Cloudworks is a studio of seven plus interns, founded in 2024 and based in Goa. We take on a handful of projects at a time, and we reply to every enquiry within a day.
Questions people ask
How much does it cost to hire a web developer in India?
There is no single rate, because developers charge by the hour, by the day or by the project, and prices vary with experience. An hourly rate does not tell you the final bill. At Cloudworks we give a fixed quote after a short call, so you know the number before work starts. For the price bands of a plain website, see our Goa website cost guide.
Do I need a web designer or a developer?
A designer decides how a site looks and how visitors move through it. A developer builds it in code so it loads fast, takes bookings or payments, and connects to your other tools. A brochure site needs mostly design, while a portal or dashboard needs real development. At Cloudworks the same team does both, so you do not have to coordinate two people.
What are the web development services?
Web development covers building the working parts of a site or web app. At Cloudworks that means fast custom websites coded from scratch, web apps, customer portals, dashboards and admin panels, plus integrations such as bookings, payments and WhatsApp. We take a project from the first brief to launch on your own domain and stay available for changes afterwards.
Can web developers make apps?
Yes. A web developer can build web apps that run in the browser on any phone or computer, and our team also builds mobile apps. For example, our restaurant billing app QuickBill has an owner web dashboard and an Android app that prints receipts. Mobile apps have their own page on this site.
